The transmission's closing instruction: choose presence over protection. Most nervous systems, after enough difficulty, learn to contract preemptively — armoring against threats that may not arrive. The contraction protects but also dims. Presence is the relaxation back into aliveness, even when the system's habit is to brace.
Protection feels safer in the moment. The body shrinks, the breath shallows, the field tightens. The pain becomes less acute. But several things go missing in the same move: pleasure, intuition, connection, vitality, the capacity to receive. The protection trades aliveness for less-pain.
Presence is the opposite movement. Body soft. Breath full. Field open. Aware of everything, including the danger if there is any, but not collapsed by it. The transmission says this is what the system was designed for — not as spiritual achievement, but as the natural state when nothing is currently wrong and the nervous system has learned to trust again.
The transition from protection to presence is not done by force. You cannot will your nervous system out of armoring. The shift happens through:
A practical marker: in any moment, you can ask, am I currently in protection or in presence? Both are valid responses to what's happening. The question is whether the response is matched to the actual moment, or whether the system is in default-protection even though nothing in this moment requires it.
